Twirling Lesson

I thought for this week I would give you all a quick lesson in the proper way to twirl. First, go put on your princess dress. Go on, I'll wait.

Next is to get into the proper take off stance. Put your weight on your back foot in order to get the maximum velocity in your twirl. Also, you can go ahead and start to giggle a little since the fun part is coming up.

Now launch into the fastest whirl around you can muster. Try to get fast enough that the cameras can't even catch you. And as a side tip, the bigger your princess skirt, the more rewarding the twirl!

You might be a bit dizzy after such a well-executed twirl, but that's okay. Go ahead and fall on the ground because it only adds to the fun!

The final step is the most important. Once you recover from the dizzies, take a picture with a stuffed animal. This is obviously vital to the whole twirl situation. This will conclude today's lesson. Thank you for your attention and now get out there and twirl!

Beach day

While Cousin Taylor was still here, we all went to the bay for the day. It was a little cold when we got there, but that didn't stop us from helping Uncle Greg make the best sand castle ever. It even had a moat. Taylor is standing in it, but that's okay because it was still under construction.

When we went down to the water, everyone kept trying to take our picture but we were more interested in the squishy sand between our toes.

Do you see that speck waaaaayyyy out in the water? That is me and Dad! I've come a long way since the days when I didn't even want my toes wet, haven't I?

Uncle Greg and Dad are helping me dry off quickly, see. Just a few quick shakes and I don't even need a towel.

I love the water!

Grandma's birthday

This weekend was my Grandma's birthday! I'm pretty sure she turned 34. Uncle Jeff, Aunt Lisa, and most importantly, Cousin Taylor came down from Washington for the occasion.

Uncle Jeff shares my love of photos so was only too happy to take some pictures with me. We're pretty cute, aren't we?!

I heard somebody mention birthday cake, so I sat at that table faster than I ever have. Bring it on!

We all gathered around to help Grandma blow out the candles. When you turn 34, you start needing help with those kind of things.

FINALLY my patience paid off. I love birthday cake. It's the best kind. Happy Birthday Grandma!

Take me out to the ballgame!

I took Mom and Dad to a Padre game this week! We had a blast. It was kind of a far walk from the car so I hitched a ride. That Dad can make himself useful sometimes.

It was a fan appreciation day for kids, so I got this awesome backpack. I loved it so much and wanted to wear for approximately 3.5 seconds before it officially became Mom's bag to carry. I just wanted to share the fun.

They even have a "Park at the Park" because they have obviously heard about my affinity for all things park related. It's so nice when people know in advance of my needs. It makes it much easier for everyone.

So you know how at baseball games they have those giant screens and how they will sometimes show the fans from around the stadium? I really wanted them to show me so I waved my hands all crazy, and they totally showed me! But did Mom get a picture of that? Of course not. Dad was a little miffed because he said he has been going to games for years but they've never showed him, and on my very first game they show me. Does anyone know a way to gently break it to him that it's because I'm way cuter than he is?

Apparently there was some kind of baseball game going on while I was having all this fun. But I don't really know much about that part!
