My official 18-month pictures

Hi everybody! I know I'm a little behind the times here, what with vacation and all, but I wanted to show you my official pictures from my 1.5 birthday. I'm pretty cute, huh?

I'm not really one for standing still for pictures. Plus, I figure my backside is just as cute as my front side!

I prefer to shake things up a bit with pictures. I mean, anyone can just smile, right?! Grandpa says this picture makes him think of Popeye, but I'm sure he means that in the nicest possible terms.

Here I am playing patty cake. I'm just trying to keep the photographer on his toes.

When you look at this picture, you couldn't possibly believe some of the stories Mom and Dad could tell about me. I look like a perfect angel, right? It's all part of my master plan.

This picture freaks out Mom a little bit, because it looks like I'm old enough to take my driving test next week.

My cousin Cassidy, who I totally look up to, has an awesome "smooshy" face so I figured I should have one too!

NYC, Part II

Hi everyone! I wanted to fill you in on the rest of my trip in the Big Apple. Here I am with Dad on the carousel in Central Park. Dad had to make sure I was strapped in good because those horses go fast!

Here we are in motion. See, you can barely see me I'm going so fast!

Here we are at FAO Schwarz, which is a giant toy store. Is there anything better?! They have this giant piano that you step on and it lights up! There's a video at the bottom of this post, because that just couldn't be captured by a picture.

We went to see a Mets game at Shea Stadium. I really like baseball games. Dad was also going to see a game at Yankee Stadium, but it was rained out. Mom and Dad thought they had traveled the farthest to see the game, until another man said he came all the way from Ireland to see it. So he wins.

Here we are at the Empire State Building. I wanted to show all those people just how cool I am and not nervous about being up so high, so I wore my shades. I think it worked.

We went to the Natural History Museum, which was huge! We got a little lost in there, but found our way to the butterfly exhibit. I'm a big fan of butterflies. We went inside that room there, but it was so humid so our pictures turned out pretty foggy. I got to see a butterfly hatching out of its cocoon. The museum man was way more excited by that than I was.

So here's the video of me on the big piano. The man behind me was trying to ruin my flow by playing some song. I personally like my music better.

Live from New York

Hi everyone! I'm writing to you live from the Big Apple! I know I am posting a bit early this week, but I wanted to make sure to say hi while I was here in NYC. Here's me and Dad on the plane. I'd like to take a moment to formally apologize to the man in front of me. So Man, I'm sorry I kicked your seat for pretty much the entire flight. I'm a baby, it's what I do.

Here's the limo we took from the airport to our apartment. I told Mom and Dad that there was no way I'd be caught dead pulling into NYC in a taxi.

Here we are in the subway station. I say hi to everyone on the subway. I'm very popular.

Here's Times Square! There are so many lights to see, I love it! Do you notice how Dad is holding me in every one of these pictures? That's because I wouldn't ride in the stroller. Hats off to Dad for being the strongest man ever!

This is the ferris wheel in Toys R Us. That's right, it's in the store! Mom selflessly declined to ride with us so that so that she could take pictures. It has nothing to do with the fact that she is scared of heights. Really.

Safari

Hi everyone! This week, Mom and Dad took me on an African Safari. It was awesome. Mom and Dad aren't the best with the directions, so I was the navigator for the day. I have a great sense of direction. Just don't look to closely at that map and notice that I'm reading it sideways, okay?

Here I am in my jungle hat, ready to go see the animals. I saw giraffes and cheetahs and all kinds of things, but the best part was riding in the tram. Except that the crazy driver kept stopping, that was driving me bonkers. Who cares about one of the last eight white rhinos in existence, is it too much to ask to keep the tram in motion?!

Did you know that they have Merry-Go-Rounds in the middle of the African wildlife? I was pleasantly surprised by that fact.

After a long day on safari, there's nothing better than Dad's shoulder. I was pretty worn out, all I wanted to do was get in the car and go home...

...but then the lions overtook our car! So we were stranded. (Not really, but it makes for a better story, doesn't it?)
